Cantonment Board Abbottabad has started grand operation in Abbottabad on the directive of Supreme Court Where Supreme Court has barred commercial activities in the residential area.
Cantonment Executive Officer Amara Ammar has deputed special teams headed by additional CEO Amir Suhail Bukhari with anti-encroachment squad who had started operation on Tuesday and in two days’ time had sealed 116 Shops, 5 Scrap points demolished, 7 Beauty Parlor sealed, 2 clinics, 5 block factories and service stations and till date 128 units were sealed by the cantonment board.
It may be noted that Supreme Court in 2018 has passed orders for the closer of commercial activities in the residential area and December 31, 2021 was set deadline for removal and shifting to the commercial zones.
Cantonment Board Abbottabad has started he campaign some time back with issuing of three notices to all and after the expiry of the dead line, operation was started yesterday (Tuesday).
This operation was conducted in Jinnah Abad, Habib Ullah colony, Javed Shaheed Road in first phase and in 2nd phase, it will be conducted against educational institutions and other commercial setups and total 171 educational institutes which includes schools, colleges and private clinics and laboratories.
CEO Mrs.Ammara Amir has told the owners of the schools and colleges to shift their activities to some other places as board cannot grant them any relief except the Supreme Court.
