Washington: The United States President Joe Biden assured his nation on Monday to not worry about a nuclear war after Putin ordered his nuclear deterrent forces to stay on high alert.
Biden was talking to reporters after the ceremony of Black History Month at the White House in Washington when a journalist asked Biden whether they should be worried about a nuclear war breaking out.
“No,” Biden answered.

Later, during a press briefing, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said, “The United States sees no reason to change its nuclear alert levels at this time.”
“We are assessing President Putin’s directive and at this time, we see no reasons to change our own alert levels,” Psaki said.
While rejecting Ukraine’s urge to ban its skies for Russian air traffic, Psaki said, Washington is not considering such a move.
She said, “.implementing a no-fly zone could draw the US into war with Russia.”
Psaki further said the United States and the 30-member NATO alliance have no “appetite or desire” for conflict with Russia.
“Provocative rhetoric like this regarding nuclear weapons is dangerous, adds to the risk of miscalculation, should be avoided and we’ll not indulge in it,” she said.
