MUMBAI – South Indian film industry’s famous superstar Allu Arjun has been released from jail after spending one night in custody in connection with a stampede case.
Allu Arjun was arrested yesterday from his home in connection with the stampede that occurred during the screening of Pushpa 2. He was later granted interim bail for four weeks and was released from jail early this morning.
Indian media reports further stated that the Telangana High Court granted Allu Arjun interim bail for four weeks against a bond of INR50,000 Indian.
After his release, Allu Arjun spoke to the media, stating, “There is nothing to worry about; I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate.” He also thanked his fans for their support during the difficult time and said, “This was a tough time for me and my supporters.”
Allu Arjun expressed regret over the stampede at Sindhya Theatre, saying, “For the past 20 years, I have been going to cinemas with my uncle to watch films, and it has always been a pleasant experience. But this time, things took an unexpected turn,”.
On December 4th, during the premiere of Allu Arjun’s blockbuster film Pushpa 2 at Sindhya Theatre in Hyderabad, a stampede caused death to a woman and injuries to her two sons who are in critical condition.
