The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday expressed surprise over the allotment of two acres of state land in lieu of just Rs0.2 million.
In his remarks in the encroachment of land in Rerhi Goth Ibrahim Hyder, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi asked how on earth the state land could be allotted to someone for peanuts. “There must be a blue-eyed boy who was deemed fit for such a huge favour,” he said. The petitioner said that the land, which was meant to be used for industrial purposes, had been allotted to the Fisheries.
He prayed to the court to order its vacation. Justice Rizvi asked him to first prove his ownership of the land before the court could give any further order in the case. He also asked him to give arguments on the admissibility of the petition.
