The concept or idea of a national anthem was first established in 19th century in Europe when they got their independence from European colonial powers. They started composing their national song, and today, almost every nation has its own National Anthem.
The national anthem of any country is a musical composition with patriotic lyrics that are either recognized officially by a nation’s government and constitution or is accepted as such by convention through popular use. National Anthem is always very encouraging impact on all countries, like on their people, traditions, culture, ethnicity, festivals, and languages and so on. Because, the national anthem is a reflection or mirror of the country’s history, freedom struggles, and their traditions and serves as a face of national identity.
Around the globe, every Nation has its distinct individuality, and each state wants to be known for its uniqueness, and therefore they want to keep one own little piece from this world.
It is a fact that when a country achieves its independence, one of the very first things which they established is a national anthem. National Anthem is an object on which everyone can be proud.
Generally, anthems address the Nation’s revolution, struggle, determination patriotism, nationalism and pain to achieve the Freedom. Music is the greatest phenomena created by humans. As for the national anthem, it binds the citizens of a country, the lyrics of the national song tell everything about the Nation.
Importance of a national anthem greatly reflects when a country wins any medal, or when they celebrate their independence, the thing which makes people unite as a nation is a National Anthem. Hence, it is the inspiration that we all need- often.
Pakistan’s National Anthem was produced first by Ahmad G. Chagla in 1949, and the lyric was written by Hafeez Jalandhari in 1952, and adopted on 13th August 1954.
The spirit of the anthem bind the entire Nation together; people stand together and sing along from the core of the hearts because it creates an enthusiastic environment of patriotism. It is a true beauty of National Anthem that when you heard it, automatically everyone’s heads held high and the body gets tight and the chests all out in pride as national anthem is a representation of a country’s identity and culture.
To motivate our Nation once again amid COVID-19, the first time in the history of Lahore Arts Council Alhamra has to present our national anthem in a new style. In which more than 35 musical instruments across the country have been utilized to perform the anthem in a new way.
Alhamra has always used its best resources to highlight the dignity of the country around the world, keeping in mind that this institution belonging to art and artist should introduce its culture to the world.
This is why during the preparation of this style of anthem; special care was taken to enhance the beauty of the national anthem and to pay tribute to those who made it with their all patriotic passion and love.
Highlighting the importance of national anthem Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Saman Rai said that, a country’s national anthem undoubtedly plays a significant role within a country’s borders as well as on the international stage ceremonies.
Rai said that this is the reason why Alhamra, for the first time, paid homage to those who were the part of the national anthem. Hence, LAC presented the national anthem in a new way using all regional instruments from all over Pakistan.
For that, all the senior teachers and young artists together performed a heartwarming hymn with great effort.
Presenting the national anthem in this manner is a gift to the people on the occasion of 14th August. Rai stated that the national anthem represents the history, tradition and values of a nation and its citizens.
Hence, it has the power to evoke feelings of patriotism among the people and reminds them of their Nation’s brilliance, magnificence, and rich heritage.
