RAWALPINDI – The wardens and staff linked to the network involved in facilitating PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail were transferred, the sources said on Monday.
Missing Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram is among those who were transferred.
The aides of the missing Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Zaheer, and Muhammad Jameel were reassigned.
Muhammad Zaheer was on night duty with Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while Muhammad Jameel was assigned to Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Warden Jameel has now been transferred to Chakwal, and Zaheer to District Jail Gujrat.
The favored wardens of the missing Deputy Superintendent, Yasir Riaz and Sajjad Siddique, have also been transferred.
Warden Yasir Riaz was posted in PB Accounts, while Sajjad Siddique was in charge of inspections.
Wardens Sajjad Siddique, Yasir Riaz, Muhammad Zaheer, and Muhammad Jameel were also questioned for facilitating PTI founder Imran Khan.
According to jail sources, the wardens transferred from Adiala Jail included Abrar Qaiser, Muhammad Mudassir Mahboob, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Shahid Akbar, Muhammad Shakeel, and Tasawar Abbas.
The Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Rawalpindi Region, has issued a notification of the transfers.
The jail authorities have been ordered to relieve all wardens immediately.
