At a flag-hoisting ceremony marking Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, AmeerJamaat-e-Islami Karachi, MunemZafar Khan, emphasized the need to transform Pakistan into a truly Islamic and welfare-oriented state to resolve national issues. Speaking at the event held on New M.A. Jinnah Road, Khan reflected on the sacrifices made by Muslims in the subcontinent, which led to the creation of Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Khan criticized the current and past rulers, both civilian and military, for the country’s ongoing challenges and called for a united effort to address these issues.

He stressed that unity and resolve are essential for overcoming adversity and achieving progress. During his speech, Khan highlighted the importance of Kashmir, stating, “Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir. Today’s event is dedicated to our Kashmiri brothers and sisters who are also celebrating Independence Day in occupied Kashmir.” He also addressed the need for effective leadership and the utilization of Pakistan’s youth and resources to drive national development.

The ceremony included flag hoisting, flower petal showering, and enthusiastic chants of patriotic slogans. Attendees included Deputy Amir-e-Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Burjees Ahmed, Muslim Pervez, Raja Arif Sultan, and others, along with students and families who participated in the celebration. Khan’s address also criticized the ruling elite for creating divisions and failing to utilize the country’s talent effectively, urging the nation to unite and fight for true representation and progress. He reaffirmed the vision of Pakistan as a model Islamic state and stressed that the nation must realign with the principles of its founding ideology to achieve its potential.
