Management and players of Karachi Kings visit Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) on Monday evening. The management of the hospital conducted the vivacious ceremony to welcome the players. The cancer survivors’ children performed on the Karachi Kings anthem which was highly praised by both the players and guests. The purpose of the visit to the hospital was to give an opportunity to the cancer patients to spend quality time with their favorite players.
Every player present on the stage was accompanied by a paediatric cancer patient and each of the players announced their performance in PSL to be dedicated to the kid standing next to them.
Tariq Azam, Director Marketing of SKMCH&RC thanked the team while stating that their presence fulfilled the dream of cancer patients to meet their favorite players. Narrating his attachment with the Hospital legendry fast bowler Wasim Akram said that “my relation with SKMCH&RC is that old since the hospital was under construction and still now I keep contributing my best possible role for patients of the hospital.”
Apart from medicines and the latest technology, play therapy also holds great importance for the treatment of cancer patients. Therefore, SKMCH&RC organizes such programs especially for the children under treatment to help them forget their pain and become resilient and high-spirited to defeat cancer. Players dedicated their performance to the cancer patients at SKMCH&RC
The visitors included Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Awais Zia, Iftikhar Ahmed, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan, Usama Mir, Aamer Yamin and Captain Imad Wasim.
Karachi Kings president, legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram also showed presence along with the team’s owner, Salman Iqbal.
