KARACHI – Cold and dry weather prevailed in Karachi, Hyderabad and most parts of Sindh on Friday with experts predicting the prevailing conditions to persist during the weekend.
Cold waves and dense fog continued to prevail in upper districts which decreased day temperatures.
Mohenjo-Daro remained the coldest place in Sindh where the mercury dropped to 04 degrees Celsius.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 92 per cent.
In Karachi, minimum temperature was recorded at 13 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 62 per cent.
In Hyderabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 11 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 36 per cent.
Dense fog/smog prevailed in the upper districts of Sindh which disrupted traffic on inter and intra-city roads.
As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave prevails over the western and upper parts of Pakistan.
It is likely to affect southwestern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and most parts of Sindh on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday.
In Karachi, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 12-14 C on Saturday and Sunday.
In Hyderabad, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 10-12 C on Saturday and 09-11 C on Sunday.
Dense fog/smog is likely to persist in Jacobabad, Hyderabad, Mohenjo-Daro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, Khairpur, Kashmore and Padidan during morning and night hours.
It will disturb traffic on inter and intra-city roads.
