Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said that acquiring scientific knowledge is the only way to progress quickly. Addressing a ceremony at Islamia College Peshawar, he said that when it comes to science, it seems that Pakistan is lagging behind, he added. During his address, he announced that first Pakistani will go to space in 2022. He said that Pakistan launched its space program in 1962 and it was second country to launch a rocket in the space. When Pakistan focused on defense, it became the first Islamic nuclear power, he added. He said the government’s decision to not extend Nawaz Sharif’s bail is correct.—INP
