An Accountability Court (AC) Monday extended the judicial remand of accused Abdul Ghani Majeed and other accused till February 6, in a case pertaining to embezzlement in subsidy for sugarcane growers. Abdul Ghani Majeed, the son of Omni Group’s head Anwar Majeed—Daudi Morkas, Rashad Ahmed and other accused were produced before AC-I Judge Muhammad Bashir in fake accounts case. During course of proceeding, the court asked the NAB prosecutor about the attendance of other accused nominated in the case. National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s Prosecutor informed the court that Khawaja Anwar Majeed was in Karachi in judicial custody. However, the NAB could not get know the countries where other accused were living currently. The defense counsel adopted the stance that Anwar Majeed could not be shifted to Islamabad due to his ailment to this NAB prosecutor Sohail Arif prayed the court to summoned medical report of Majeed from jail authority.
