In a dreadful road accident, eight passengers including two women and minor children were killed on-the-spot while 15 others seriously injured when a Sargodha-bound bus collided head-on with a paddy laden tractor trolley near Tahli Goraya on Hafizabad-Sargodha Road about 30-km from here this afternoon.
According to Rescue-1122, a bus No. FDO-2176 was on way to Sargodha from Sialkot and when it reached near Tahli Goraya it was dashed into a tractor trolley coming from opposite direction, as a result of which 8 passengers were killed on-the-spot while 20 others sustained serious injuries. The police and rescue-1122 shifted the dead bodies and injured to the THQ Pindi Bhattian, DHQ Hospitals and Trauma Centre Hafizabad where condition of most of the injured is causing concern. Most of the dead bodies have not yet been identified.
Drivers of both the bus and tractor ran away after the mishap. The police have impounded the tractor trolley and the bus. Meanwhile, Chief Minister of the Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed his grief over the deadly accident in which 8 persons have lost their lives and has expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families. He has directed the district administration to ensure better medical treatment to the injured.
