Pakistan was carved on the map of the world after numerous sacrifices of the Muslims of undivided India and they finally achieved their goal under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

These views were expressed by Chairman of the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC) Mian Muhammad Javed while presiding over a national seminar titled ‘Ittehad-o-Istehkam-e-Pakistan’ or ‘Unity & Stability of Pakistan’ organized by the NPC at the Aiwan-e-Quaid on the eve of the 77th Independence Day anniversary of Pakistan.

Our young generation can value Pakistan only when they learn about those sacrifices and the losses their forefathers had to bear for the sake of a country of their own, he said.

Pakistan he said was at the crossroads of history, however, he expressed satisfaction that its economy was growing better. For steady and unchecked growth, we have to follow Quaid’s words ‘Unity, Faith and Discipline,’ he said. Quaid, he said, had great hopes and expectations from the youth.

Chief Guest at the seminar former Ambassador Salahuddin Chaudhry commented that Pakistanis had great potential to overcome the pressing challenges. “We should not get disappointed.” If we study the history of the world we shall realize that good and bad days alternate in the lives of the nations and only those nations which never lose faith and work hard in the face of the worst odds survive, he said. “The day is not far when Pakistan will be a leading nation among the nations of the world,” said Mr Chaudhry.

Senior Vice Chairman of the NPC and Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, Mr Faisal Zahid Malik addressing the seminar said he was reminded of his father Founder Chairman of the NPC and Founder Editor of Pakistan Observer Zahid Malik (late) as he vigorously participated every year in the flag hoisting ceremony and Independence Day celebrations on August 14. He set this tradition of annual flag hoisting and we are proudly following his path, said Faisal Zahid Malik.

Ishrat Masoom in his speech recalled that he was lucky to have worked with late Zahid Malik. He was an untiring personality and always believed in positive results. Writer Farheen Chaudhry paid compliments to the NPC and the students of the Pak-Turk Maarif School and the Girl Guide who had given an excellent performance and re-enkindled the flame of patriotism. Director Media NPC, Hameed Qaisar conducted the proceedings of the national seminar.

Earlier, a flag-hoisting ceremony also took place at the Aiwan-e-Quaid and besides the NPC Chairman Mian Muhammad Javed, Vice Chairman Faisal Zahid Malik, Ambassador Salahuddin Chaudhry, Ishrat Masoom, Farheen Chaudhry, Prof Inayat Ali, Ms Naeem Fatima Alvi, Hameed Qaisar, Farheen Chaudhary, Ghaus Mir Hasan, Prof. Anayat Ali, members of civil society and children of the Pakistan Girl Guide and Pak-Turk Maarif School participated in the flag-hoisting.
