Islamabad police have sacked three officials for demanding a marriage certificate from a couple and harassing them in the federal capital.
The order to remove them from the job was issued by the SP Dolphin and Patrolling after investigation into the matter.
The policemen had stopped the couple in limits of the Bara Kahu police station and asked them to show their nikkahnama or marriage certificate. They also sexually harassed the woman, prompting the couple to move authorities against them.
Reports said Constable Asfand Ayaz, Constable Nayab and Constable Samiullah were dismissed from the service over their inappropriate behaviour.
A case has also been registered against three policemen at the Bara Kahu police station as authorities believe that no incident of harassment will be tolerated.
