Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has suspended 28 policemen including SHO’s from rural Sindh. According to details, policemen were suspended on suspicion of their involvement in smuggling of contraband oil from Iran and non-custom paid vehicles.
On receiving several complaints against these suspects, the IG Sindh constituted an investigation committee under AIG Imran Yaqoob Minhas to probe on the complaints against the policemen involved in smuggling of contraband oil from Iran and non-custom paid vehicles. The committee was comprising of DIG crime branch Amir Farooq and SSP Dadu Abdul Khaliq Peerzada and the committee recommended to take this action.
The police official said that the grand operation against black sheep in police uniform was conducted as the Sindh police ramped up their anti-crime operations. Along several SHOs, the police have also suspended PSO of the SSP Jacobabad. The suspected officers were ordered to report at police lines.
