District Police Officer Hafizabad Faisal Gulzar said that Hafizabad police have arrested more than 260 accused members of 21 gangs involved in theft, house robberies, motorcycle lifting, highway robberies, cattle lifting street crimes and heinous crimes and recovered booty of worth Rs. 51.5 million during last three months.
While addressing a press conference held here, on Thursday, he said that police recovered 4.3 tola gold ornaments, one tractor, one harvester machine, 34 motorcycles, one trailer, 8 rickshaws, 25 mobile phones, 16 solar plates, 15 cows, 16 buffalo, 21 goats, 21 mounds wheat and Rs. 15.1 million hard cash from accused.
He said that police also registered 243 cases against accused involved in carrying and displaying illegal arms during special crackdown launched against elicit arms during last three month in the district while police arrested accused and seized 9 klanshinkoves, 160 pistols, 3 repeater guns, 9 guns and 17 raffles from their possession.
