Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 17 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police have intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Secretariat police team arrested an accused namely Amir Ali involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders. The Tarnol police team arrested two accused namely Umer Hayat and Mumtaz and recovered two 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their possession. The Sangjani police team arrested an accused namely Qasim Khan involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders.
Likewise, the Sumbal police team arrested two accused namely Allah Muhammad and Siraj Ul Haq and recovered one 30 bore pistol and one dagger from their possession.
The Koral police team arrested an accused namely Israr and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition and 1270 gram heroin from his possession.
Similarly, the Sihala police team arrested and accused Saeed and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. The Industrial Area police team arrested an accused namely Naimat Ullah and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.
Moreover, the Bhara Kahu police team arrested an accused namely Usama Ishtiaq and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession, while the police team also arrested two accused namely Zeeshan and Shoaib involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders.
The Phulgran police team arrested an accused namely Saqib Mehmood and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.
Furthermore, the Nilore police team arrested two accused namely Sami Zamir and Mehmood and recovered 2400 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession, while police team also arrested an accused namely Abdul Qadeer involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders.
The Shahzad Town police team arrested an accused namely Zeeshan Rafiq and recovered 1100 gram heroin from his possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is under way.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan directed all senior officials for an effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons.
He further said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and the performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis.
