11 dead, 1,145 injured in road accidents

At least 11 people were killed and 1,145 others injured in 1,089 road traffic crashes in Punjab during the last 24 hours. As many as 588 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 557 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.

The analysis showed that 570 drivers, 41 underage drivers, 147 pedestrians, and 439 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes. The statistics show that 208 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 222 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by 90 in Multan with 102 victims and at third Faisalabad with 78 accidents and 68 victims. According to the data, 914 motorbikes, 73 auto-rickshaws, 120 motorcars, 21 vans, eight passenger buses, 21 trucks and 111 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in these road traffic accidents.
