ISLAMABAD – The government of Pakistan has fixed the Nisab, the minimum amount in bank accounts for Zakat deduction, at PKR,135,179 for Ramzan 2024.
People having savings bank accounts, profit and loss sharing accounts and other similar accounts will be charged for Zakat if they have Rs135,179 in their account, Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Security said.
For Islamic year 1444-45 A.H, the deduction date is mid March. The exact date will be finalised as per the moon sighting.

Zakat Rate 2024
A notification for Nisab rate has been forwarded to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Zakat Collection Controlling Agencies, and Administrator General Zakat has notified Nisab of Zakat for the Zakat year 1444-45 A.H at Rs135,179.
The notification said no deduction of Zakat at source shall be made, in case the amount standing to the credit of an account in respect of the assets mentioned in column 2 of Serial No.1 of the first schedule of Zakat and Ushr Ordinance 1980, is less than Rs135,179 on the first day of Ramazan.
It said Zakat Collection Controlling Agencies (ZCCAs) will deduct Zakat accordingly and must provide copy of Form to the Ministry after depositing Zakat in the Central Zakat Account No.CZ-08 with the State Bank.
Last year, Pakistani government set Nisab of Zakat at Rs103,159, a surge from the previous year’s Rs88,927.
