Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has ordered the construction of PC One for Regional Blood Center Faisalabad. Dr. Yasmin Rashid has also directed all the government teaching hospitals of Punjab to establish their own blood banks. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has given these orders to the Department Specialized Health care and Medical Education was released during a high-level meeting.
In the meeting, Secretary Health Punjab Imran Sikandar Baloch, Special Secretaries Muhammad Usman and Dr. Farrukh Naveed, Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Hafiz Shahid Latif, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti, Mian Zahid ur Rehman, Dr. Yad ullah, Zahida Sarwar and officer of Institute of Blood Transfusion Services participated. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid also reviewed the hospital waste management regime during the meeting. The concerned officers gave a briefing to Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid.
Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that the use of modern technology will be ensured in all blood banks. PC One has been directed to be made for the pilot project of Regional Blood Center Faisalabad and all government teaching hospitals of Punjab have also been directed to establish their own blood banks.
Doctor Yasmin Rashid said that cleanliness must be ensured in all blood banks. They are trying to make the screening process very clean and transparent in all government blood banks of the province. After the success of RBC’s pilot project in Faisalabad, the same model will be implemented in the whole province. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that 100% disposal of waste should be ensured in all government teaching hospitals of Punjab.
