KARACHI – Buying cars in Pakistan has become more expensive than ever, especially for those who are not tax-payers as authorities are tightening noose to boost revenue.
The cost of buying a new vehicle has increased due to tax policy that calculates Withholding Tax (WHT) based on engine capacity. Under the updated system, non-filers will pay more than filers as officials replaced previous engine-size-based system.
