‘Wild olive grafting campaign’ seminar held

A seminar on ‘Wild olive grafting campaign’ was arranged under the supervision Wana Welfare Association (WAWA) HNRD team at Sufa Public School Shikai, District Lower South Waziristan. In which the local people were given a detailed discussion on the “Wild Olive Grafting Campaign” and the utility of olives.

On this occasion the WAWA team shared their experiences with the people and students regarding the methods of grafting wild olives and educated the local people about the grafting of wild olives, as well as distributed grafting kits to the local people. Students and people were informed about usefulness of olives, WAWA HNRD team chairman Akbar Khan Wazir said that if the people of Waziristan Wana grafted wild olives, the people here would get employment as well as a great source of livelihood, opportunities will be available.

According to a report, more than 500,000 wild olive plants are found in various areas of Lower South Waziristan and in which thousands of people will get employment opportunities with annual income of billions of rupees by grafting.
