INDIA is not ready to shun its belligerence towards its neighbours. To divert attention from the embarrassment it got from the physical clash with China at Ladakh a few weeks back, it is now further racketing up tension with Pakistan along the Line of Control.
Pakistan Army on Sunday shot down another Indian spy drone that intruded into the country’s airspace along the LoC. This is the ninth Indian quadcopter shot down by our troops this year. Along with this, Indian ceasefire violations along the LoC have witnessed a surge since the abrogation of constitutional status of India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir in August last year. The regrettable part is that the Indian troops while firing across the LoC also target the civilian population. They show no regard whatsoever for the human life. Whilst Pakistani troops respond to the Indian fire but their response always remains very calculated and measured in order to avoid civilian casualties on the other side of the LoC. As the world is grappling with Covid-19, the Indian Government is not ready to shun its hostility. In fact it has increased the hostilities to deflect attention from its failure to cope with the Coronavirus as well as the economic collapse it is currently faced with. In such kind of desperate situation, India may resort to any misadventure but it should not live in fool’s paradise as our forces are fully ready and prepared to respond to any aggression with full force. The whole world is witnessed to the fact that how our Shaheens forced the enemy to bite the dust last year in February. However, any conflict between the two nuclear neighbours will have disastrous consequences not only for this volatile region but the world at large. It is time for the world community especially countries like the United States to use their influence on India and stop it from making a folly. Influential Muslim countries also need to draw a clear line whether they stand with an oppressor like India or the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. India should be forced to move towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the UNSC resolutions as peace in South Asia is linked with the resolution of this decades old dispute.
