Weather update for Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; more rains predicted

PESHAWAR – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening/night.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist during the next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot, Kohistan, Buner, Batgram, Malakand, Peshawar, Bajaur, Khyber and Kurram on Sunday evening/night. Partly cloudy weather is likely elsewhere in the province.

On Monday and Tuesday, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 37-39°C on Monday and Tuesday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in parts of the province.

Peshawar remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 42 per cent.
