Adam Khan Wazir Wana
In a demonstration of frustration and discontent, the Wana Councilors Alliance (WCA) staged a protest on Thursday inside the tank at the Assistant Director South Waziristan Local Government Office. The protesters accused the Assistant Director, Said Anwar, of neglecting his responsibilities and failing to address local issues, highlighting their concerns as they locked the office in protest.
President of the Councilors Alliance, Sahib Khan, expressed the grievance that the Assistant Director, who is responsible for addressing concerns in South Waziristan, is currently stationed 160 km away in the Tank district. Ahmad Khan, Vice President of the Wana Councilors Alliance, pointed out that Said Anwar is in charge of both South Waziristan Lower and Upper districts but is physically present in Tank, neglecting his duties in the areas he is supposed to serve.
Ahmad Khan further proposed a solution, suggesting that the Assistant Director should rotate his duty between South Waziristan Lower and Upper for an equal duration, ensuring fair attention to both regions. The Councilors Alliance emphasized that the protest would persist until Said Anwar fulfills his duties effectively. The demonstrators asserted that they would continue their protest until their constitutional and legal rights are acknowledged and until the removal of the allegedly corrupt Assistant Director.
