K-Electric has completed the annual maintenance work for the year 2024 at the Hub Pumping Station, as confirmed by the spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC). The maintenance, which took place on January 28, 2025, from 8 AM to 4 PM, resulted in a brief disruption in power supply, but following its completion, the electricity supply was fully restored, allowing for the resumption of water distribution to District West and Keamari.

The KW&SC spokesperson further explained that the scheduled maintenance, which lasted between 6 to 8 hours, temporarily halted the electricity supply to the Hub Pumping Station, causing a water shortage of 37 million gallons per day (MGD) in District West and Keamari. However, water supply from the Dhabeji Pumping Station continued without interruption, ensuring that the overall water supply to the city remained stable. The total water supply to Karachi is approximately 650 MGD, with 613 MGD maintained during the maintenance period. The spokesperson also expressed gratitude to the residents of District West and Keamari for their cooperation during this necessary maintenance process.
