LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that Indian media has been reporting for several months that their team will not come to Pakistan to play, but they are still waiting for a response from the Indian government and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), not the media.

“We will continue our preparations, and the tournament will be held in Pakistan,” said Mohsin Naqvi while hoping positive response from the Indian side on Saturday.

The PCB chairman made these comments after a visit to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium while speaking to the media.

Indian media has claimed that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that reports in the Indian media have been claiming for months that the tournament will not take place in Pakistan and that the Indian team will not come.

He further said that if the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) or the Indian government refused to send their team for the event, he would have to approach his own government. He added, “If India refuses, they should not expect any better treatment from us.”

The PCB chairman also clarified that there is no plan to hold the event under a hybrid model.

However, he expressed hope that the Indian board would provide a positive response.

A delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) will visit Lahore from November 10 to 12 to assess Pakistan’s preparations for the tournament.

An official event is expected on November 11, during which the tournament’s schedule and key details may be announced.

The Champions Trophy is due from February 19 to March 9, with matches to be played in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
