Revisit priorities

Are we a lively nation? We must question to our conscience. However, I am feeling dejected and downhearted after watching the priorities of this nation. When heinous crimes are increasing day by day, people, especially children and women are not safe here, from Zainab to Hooznoor, sexual abuse and harassment cases reportedly increasing, women’s right to inherit property bill is rejected, country facing internal and external threats including deadlock coupled with human rights violations in Kashmir, state is doing its efforts to get Pakistan off from FATF grey list, when Islamophobia is rising and Muslims all over the world facing extreme threats, we are the victim of hybrid warfare, internet and social media revolution destroying our ethics and moral values and so on!
While poor of this country is crying with increasing inflation but the nation is busy in buying cinema tickets of“MerePasTumHo” and similar projects with no intellectual outcome. We must revive the historical golden period of Muslim rise in the form of media projects to train the minds of the youth for the future. We must dramatize the struggle of our ancestors for Pakistan, so that this 21st century generation can understand importance of this precious State.
Media houses and film industry of Pakistan must use their media power for positive awareness and to spread the moral values of Islam in some intelligent and interesting way as Turkey is currently doing with their Turkish Series “Resurrection Ertugrul” on the same agenda of reforming youth minds towards Islamic values and the glory of their ancestors. Apart from ruling class, what we have given to our country as an individual? Think again. Let’s question ourselves. Are we cold blooded nation? If yes, then we must revisit our priorities as a nation, as a human being. May ALLAH protect us from all evils. AMEEN.

Chinese New Year

The New Year is celebrated all over the world with great enthusiasm and fun. It is a special day for the people as this day is the beginning of the New Year and they welcome the upcoming year in their way. On the midnight of 31st December and on 1st January there is a celebration of New Year all over the world but, Chinese New Year is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar.
The festival is usually referred to as the Spring Festival in mainland China, and is one of several Lunar New Years in Asia. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between 21 January and 20 February. In 2020, the first day of the Chinese New Year fell on Saturday, 25 January, initiating the Year of the Rat.
The biggest event of any Chinese New Year’s Eve is the annual reunion dinner. Dishes consisting of special meats are served at the tables, as a main course for the dinner and offering for the New Year. This meal is comparable to Thanksgiving dinner in the US and remotely similar to Christmas dinner in other countries with a high percentage of Christian.

Lack of research

I would like to draw attention of the students of Pakistan with regard to their skills and talent which is only limited to reading and writing, but not in research and analysis. We already know that Pakistan’s education system is backward and lack of researches is one of the main reasons. Medical students always get medals and certificates in their fields but very few are seen in conducting researches.
Thus, it is also the responsibility of the government to provide each institution with full facilities of research and analysis so that everyone should bring new ideas in a project.

Britain must not shut doors on refugees

Stories of migrants who sink in Mediterranean, suffocate in lorries or suffer from hyperthermia are becoming common like daily bread. European countries should redouble their combined efforts and knowledge to find permanent solutions and end the miseries caused by the lethal journeys being taken by migrants.
Britain has a long positive history of offering international protection to people who have escaped severe homophobic attacks, civil wars, political persecutions, domestic violence and discrimination on race, nationality and ethnicity. Boris Johnson should continue to offer sanctuary to genuine refugees and stop denying an estimated 2000 refugee children across Europe that have family in the UK a way out of diabolical conditions they are experiencing.

Women’s education in Balochistan

It is conventional wisdom that, education plays a drastic role for the development and advancement of any nation. Education is the basic need of every person and considered fundamental right of every person, either male or female. But unfortunately, Baluchistan is completely ignored from getting education than other province. It is said that if you want to ignore a nation, prevent it from getting education. The same is done with Baluchistan, as its illiteracy rate is increasing but literacy is going down. In the same way, women literacy is extremely low. Only 27% of women are literate and the rest is completely unaware about education.
In the statistics, Balochistan has only 16,693 female teachers and they are ones to participate in the 27% of the literate females. And the remaining portion passes their lives with the domestic works. In some districts like Awaran, schools are present for girls and some schools condition are incredible that students are getting education under the trees. Only one teacher is present to teach a complete primary school. Leave the decorated buildings, at least we should be given teachers who polish the talents of the nation. As well as in some areas proper education is not available for girls. So, the government leaders of Baluchistan are are humbly requested to visit such areas and provide schools so that they should get education to progress the province.

Tragedy in Yemen

More than 100 Yemeni soldiers have been killed and 168 injured while offering prayers in a mosque in a military base by Houthi drone and missile attack. Yemen has been burning in flames since 2014. There are brief quiet periods in the region which are followed by massive bloodshed. Sustainable de-escalation is only possible by intervention of United Nations with a firm and resolute intention.
Thousands of people have been killed and millions displaced in the war-torn country that has pushed the country to the brink of famine. A landmark agreement was reached in Sweden in December 2018 that provided a chance to end fighting but its slow implementation quashed the hopes of bringing peace to the region. Muslim Ummah must take notice of this situation and join hands to end this conflict.
