Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of five million houses is being materialized with the grace of Almighty Allah and the time is not far-off when every homeless Pakistani
This was stated by Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar while addressing the ceremony of the Prime Minister’s Affordable Housing Project at Chak 39/NB in Sargodha.
The CM said the laying of the foundation stone of the LDA City Housing Project is an important step towards the realisation of this commitment.
Giving the project details, the CM said houses will be constructed at 133 localities in 146 tehsils of the province under the PM’s Affordable Housing Project.
In the first phase, more than ten thousand houses are being constructed for low-income families at 32 places in various districts of the province, he added.
Meanwhile, 1175 houses, of 3 marlas each, will be constructed at six different places in Sargodha.
The overall cost of every house to be built under this project stands around 14 lakh, he continued.
The CM said a 3 marla plot has been provided in 30 thousand rupees only while the government of Pakistan will also provide a three lakh subsidy, along with a soft loan, for each house.
Similarly, Punjab Bank will provide approx one million, as a loan facility, for the construction of the house with a monthly instalment of Rs10,000. The Punjab Bank will provide ten billion rupees for ten thousand houses, he stated.
He further said the cabinet has approved three billion rupees for infrastructural development of this project at 32 places adding that necessary facilities like roads, mosques, playgrounds and sewerage etc will not only be provided but will also be fully taken care of.
The government has also provided one billion rupees to PHATA for another housing project and the citizens will be able to get a one million rupees loan for the construction of houses through micro-financing institutions, he added.
The government has taken a solid step to fulfil the promise of providing an own home and lakhs of families will be able to materialize the dream of owning a dwelling place for them, concluded the CM.
Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar expressed gratitude over the restoration of the law and order situation as well as the opening of roads. He said most of the roads are opened in different areas of the province.
I pay tributes to police, administration and other law enforcement agencies for their hard work, he said and appreciated that citizens adopted socially responsible behaviour to help others.
Meanwhile, the government is following a policy of zero-tolerance against the violators of the law and no one will be allowed to harm anyone or damage government property, he stressed.
Violence or hooliganism is intolerable and strict action will be initiated against the perpetrators of the crimes, the CM warned.
