Scores of charged and angry villagers including women and children while raising slogans against the Police and carrying the body of a man who committed suicide over police alleged blackmailing and psychological torture storms the Rangoo Police station in Hazro tehsil of Attock and staged sit in to register their protest.
The protesters including family members, friends and fellow villagers of village Pyanda put the body of 40 years old Chaudhry Aziz Rehman- father of four and a daily wager by profession- outside Police station and staged sit in to register their protest against the Police alleged blackmailing and psychological torture by falsely implicating in a murder case led to take extreme step by committing suicide.
One of the protesters Chaudhry Saleem told newsmen that 61 years old former councilor Mushtaq Ahmed Awan was shot dead near village on October 14 and Police registered a case against unknown assassinators.
He claimed that the investigation officer named Zubair and his tout Sajid called him to Police station and asked him to pay a sum of Rs 0.5 million as illegal gratification failing which they would implicates him falsely in the murder case.
The victim’s wife told newsmen that her husband continuously appeared before the investigation officer and assured them that he is innocent and nothing to do with the murder of the former councilor but allegedly the IO threatened him that he is making a statement in the video of the accused involved in the case that he (Aziz) is also involved in the murder.
His wife claimed that to get rid out of the Police extortion and blackmailing, he committed suicide and they brought the body of the victim to Police station to register their protest against the police cops.
