The federal government has formed a judicial commission to investigate the harrowing murder of a student in Islamabad by anti-terrorism operatives.
A notification has been issued in this regard, ordering a judicial inquiry into Saturday’s killing. Rana Waqas Anwar has been appointed as Additional District Magistrate Inquiry Officer. The Commission has been directed to submit a comprehensive report within five days after recording statements of all witnesses, relatives and police officers. Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Political Communication Shahbaz Gill has said that there will be a transparent inquiry into the incident. In a tweet on Saturday, he said that a transparent inquiry would be conducted and the facts will be put before the public, adding that action would be taken against whoever is found responsible.

Earlier , a 22-year-old youth was shot dead by the personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Islamabad Police in the G-10 area of Islamabad late Saturday over suspicion of terrorism.
According to the murdered youth, Osama Satti’s family, he was coming after dropping his friend in the area of Shams Colony in the wee hours, Saturday when police tried to intercept his car and opened fire when it did not pull over.Speaking to Pakistan Observer, a relative of Osama, said that CTD personnel were on patrol in the area and had asked Osama to stop.

However when he did not stop, they indiscriminately opened fire on him.
The police spokesperson said the police tried to stop the suspicious vehicle with tinted windows and opened fire when the

driver did not stop. The spokesperson clarified that the police chased the vehicle till G-10 and when it did not stop they fired at the tires of

the vehicle. Unfortunately, the fire hit the driver of the vehicle which resulted in his death.
Immediately, after the news of the incident spread, the IG Police Amir Zulfiqar ordered a departmental inquiry following which five

policemen were arrested in the murder case and further investigations are under way. The IGP has formed teams comprising SP Saddar and

SP Investigation under the supervision of DIG Operations.
Meanwhile, the residents of the federal capital are devastated by the news of an innocent young man’s murder by police and

have condemned the incident demanding strict action against those responsible.
President All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran Ajmal Baloch said that Osama was a resident of Sector G-13 and a student whose father

is a businessman. He added that the 22-year-old was not a terrorist, and the murder is the worst example of police high-handedness in the

federal capital.
