USC outlets achieves over Rs2b highest sale in Ramazan

Managing Director Utility Stores Corporation Umer Lodhi on Tuesday said that under the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan and with the trust of citizens, all Utility Stores Corporation, (USC) outlets had achieved around 2 billion increased record sale benchmark this Ramazan, as compared to previous year.

The current government is the first one which was taking a keen interest not only to make this biggest retail outlet in the country but also beneficial for the low-income people and government also rebuild the trust of public with offering special Ramazan subsidies quality kitchen items, he said while talking to a private news channel.

He said Ramazan package sale target has been increased up to Rs 25.96 billion from Rs 24 billion.

He said Islamabad Zonal was first, Lahore 2nd and Multan was 3rd highest in numbers of sale where record sales achieved, adding, despite outbreak of Covid-19, retail outlets remained opened for the public to maintain continued supplies of food items at prices lower than the open market.

USC also launched more than 100 Mobile Utility Stores during the pandemic to ensure delivery of grocery items at people’s doorstep in far-flung areas, he mentioned.

He said each and every outlet was ensuring for sufficient stock of essential commodities as per customers’ requirements, USC outlets have been providing less price rate kitchen items as compared to open markets.

He said credit goes to nation who did trust for our quality products. Replying to a Question, he said with improve policy, change of packing, strict monitoring system, opening hours, better team services and gap in prices of kitchen items as compered to open market make the historic sale record in USC outlets.

Talking about Karachi, he made it clear that there is still need to work moree and in coming year 2022, Karachi would become the first city with highest record sale.

Corporation would pay special attention for Karachi to expand more branches which would compete rest of the cities, he added. He said the services and quality would be further improved.
