DUBAI – Citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) lately observed a public holiday on Muharram 1, which marks the start of the new Islamic year.
In January, the UAE Cabinet approved that there would be a total of 14 public holidays for the public and private sectors in the Gulf country.
The next public holiday will be observed in the UAE in next holy month of Rabiul Awal to celebrate the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
The day is expected to fall on September 15 but this could change.
Later on, people in the UAE will observe holidays in December to mark the National Day of the country.
