ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Interior has rubbished the rumours about delay in issuance of passports of all categories to applicants due to shortage of lamination papers.
The ministry in a statement termed them false and baseless, saying the Directorate General Immigration and Passports (DGI&P) was issuing passports as per set routine.
It added that fast track category passports were being printed in three days while processing time for urgent category is five days.
The ministry said the printing of passports for normal category was done within a month. It said that the procurement of the lamination papers have been completed, adding that it will also reduce the duration time for passport issuances.

The ministry said with the availability of lamination paper, the issuance of passports in category would be made in 21 working days.

Normal fee passport will be issued after 21 working days.
Urgent fee passport will be issued in 05 working days.
Fast Track fee passport will be issued in 02 working days.
