The ever-increasing inflation has further increased the hardships of the countrymen especially the common man and it needed to be checked to provide relief to masses.
These views were expressed by the leadership of Pakistan Mazdoor Mahaz and Mutahida Labour Federation; Muhammad Yaqoob, Qazi Ahmad, Naeem Qureshi, Shaukat Ali Chaudhry, Fazl E Wahid, Altaf Hussain Baloch and Muhammad Hanif Ramay.
In a joint statement issued here on Thursday, they voiced their concerns about hundreds of thousands of labourers that have lost their jobs due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
They stated Inflation has further made basic necessities inaccessible to the millions of workers.
“It seems that even with the decrease in fuel prices–the prices of necessary items seems to be increasing and the Government officials other than just bickering about it have lost control over the market prices.”
The leadership elaborated the prices of poultry items, fruits and vegetables have skyrocketed. In these circumstances working class people clenched in the jaws of unemployment find no refuge from these market forces.
The labour leadership demanded of the government representatives to concentrate on controlling inflation and improving the country’s economic situation instead of engaging in self-glorifying politics.
