LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 182 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different parts of Lahore on Thursday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 35 businesses in Gulberg and Model Town Extension, 35 in Subzazar Housing Scheme, 35 in New Muslim Town and in the surroundings of Canal Bank Road, and 76 in R1, F1 and L Blocks of Johar Town for illegal commercial use. LDA also sealed illegal workshop in Revenue Society.
The sealed premises include United Bank Limited, Bank Alfalah, Kips School, Step Campus in Muslim Town, Alpha Academy, Dar-ul-Madina, Supreme Pharmacy, private clinic, café, restaurants, beauty parlors, grocery stores, private offices and other businesses.
LDA teams also demolished several illegal constructions at Adda Plot. LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police and heavy machinery.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of parking bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
Bank Alfalah, Pips School, Rana Academy among 119 premises sealed in Lahore
