ABU DHABI – A number of car were damaged, shops and houses flooded as residents of various parts of the UAE, including Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain, woke up to massing hailstorm and rain on Monday morning (Feb 12).
Photos on social media and videos shared by the UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) show hail, some even larger than golf balls, hitting Al Ain, Al Wothba region, Bani Yas in Abu Dhabi and other parts of the country.
The videos show a white sheet covering various roads in Al-Ain and other parts of the country.
Reports said the city of Al-Ain has witnessed a hailstorm of this magnitude for first time in forty years.
