Two soldiers martyred in DI Khan suicide attack

RAWALPINDI – Two soldiers were martyred after a vehicle borne suicide bomber exploded himself on a security forces’ convoy in Dera Ismail Khan District, said military’s media wing on Friday.

The ISPR said such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve in the war on terrorism. It said that the perpetrators of this cowardly attack will be brought to justice.

On March 16, two Pakistan Army officers among seven were martyred after terrorists attacked security forces’ post in Mir Ali, Waziristan.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said that a group of six terrorists attacked the post in early hours of Saturday.

After the troops foiled an initial attempt of intrusion, the terrorists rammed an explosive laden vehicle into the post, followed by multiple suicide bombing attacks, which led to collapse of portion of a building, resulting into martyrdom of five soldiers.

The martyrs include Havildar Sabir (resident of District Khyber), Naik Khurshid  (resident of District Lakki Marwat), Sepoy Nasir (resident of District Peshawar), Sepoy Raja (resident of District Kohat) and Sepoy Sajjad (resident of District Abbotabad).

Following the attack, a clearance operation was launched under the super of Lieutenant Colonel Kashif Ali and all the six terrorists were killed.

However, during intense exchange of fire, leading his troops from the front, Lieutenant Colonel Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar  having fought gallantly embraced martyrdom.
