Today Millat Express train while going to Karachi hit a car at an unguarded railway crossing near Saida Chak. The car fell down in the Lower Jhelum Canal. As a result Shavez Ahmed, Aamir Iqbal died at the spot while Ahmed Yar sustained serious injuries. All the victims in the age group of 20 to 25 years old belonged to Harya village.
Rescue 1122 reached the site and moved the dead bodies and the injured to THQ Hospital Malakwal, after recovering them from the canal along with the car. The main cause as told by the rescue team in charge was the unmanned railway crossing.
