Khairpur

There was an important headway in the investigations of rape and murder case of a seven-year-old girl in Khairpur as the DNA samples of two persons have matched with the victim’s samples Monday. The police have arrested both accused and according to the police, they have confessed to the horrendous crime.
Both accused are the relatives of the victim and they have confessed to raping and murdering the innocent child. The accused have been identified as Abdullah Larrak and Salim Larrak. They have revealed that a few days ago a woman was killed on the accusation of Karo Kari and to take the revenge of her murder they targeted the little girl.
The seven-year-old was abducted last week. Her body was found two days later from a banana orchard in Hadal Shah village. According to the initial post-mortem report, the girl was strangled after being raped, the police said. DNA tests were conducted on more than 386 suspects and two matches were found.
The incident created panic and fear among the locals and also initiated countrywide protests by political and social organisations who protested the latest gruesome incident of child abuse and demanded that the rapist be arrested. The father of the minor girl suspected that more people were involved in the incident and has urged the police to enhance the scope of the investigations in this regard.—INP
