Two-day inaugural Eighteen Annual Golf Tournament concludes

The inaugural edition of the two-day Eighteen Annual Golf Tournament 2019 concluded on a high today at the Karachi Golf Club (KGC). The tournament witnessed participation of as many as over 300 players including the golfers from Eighteen – The sponsors of the tournament and the members of the club, as well as the members of KGC.
The two-day event was based on the Shot Gun Start Format which is designed such that a tournament can be completed more quickly with as many as the above mentioned number of players or beyond. Opening on Saturday November 30, 120 players from KGC were divided into 4 a side team with the rounds being set on the shotgun start. Whereas, the final day of the tournament featured participation of 140 golfers from Team Eighteen who were also divided into 4 a side team to go along on the shotgun start format.
The tournament was held under the auspices of Eighteen which offers the most luxurious and modern, mixed use, residential project within the country’s real estate sector. With one major highlight of the project on offer being its 18-hole Golf Course which is self-explanatory of the longings it possesses for Golf.
Former Speaker Sindh Assembly Abdullah Hussain Haroon was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. Upon arrival at the venue he was received by the senior officials of Eighteen and Karachi Golf Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Hussain Haroon praised the efforts of Eighteen to promote Golf in Pakistan, and appreciated the enthusiasm of all the participating golfers who made the two-day event a success.
Later, he distributed the trophies and prizes amongst the two winning teams of both day 1 and day 2. Paying special gratitude to the sponsors for their support to the game of golf and reiterated that other organizations should also put in strenuous efforts towards the promotion of sports in Pakistan.
Thanking the words of appraisals from the Chief Guest, Co-chairman Saif Group, Anwar Saifullah said, “We are enthralled over the tremendous response received from the golfers over the course of these two days and this has encouraged us and paved the way for us to do more in the interest of promoting Golf in Pakistan. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Karachi Golf Club Authorities without whose support this tournament wouldn’t have been possible and are resolute to make this tournament a bigger success in years to come.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Karachi Golf Club is rated amongst the top 100 remarkable golf courses in the world due to its unique features, with the golf course and its affiliated facilities being located on 217 acres, surrounded by picturesque landscape.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior officials and members of both Eighteen and Karachi Golf Club (KGC) alongside prominent golfers of the country.
