ATTOCK – At least two children were killed and five others injured after a school van was attacked by unknown gunmen in Dheri Kot, Attock, on Thursday.
The injured students are said to be aged between five to 10 years and they have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
Security forces have cordoned off the area to collect evidence.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar took notice of the incident and instructed the DPO of Attock Sardar Ghias Gul to reach the scene immediately. The DPO of Attock promptly formed police teams, established blockades in all areas, and initiated a search operation.
DPO stated that, according to the preliminary report, the attackers targeted the van driver due to personal enmity, resulting in the deaths of two students and injuries to six others, including the driver.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has requested a report from the RPO Rawalpindi and emphasized that a thorough investigation of the incident must be conducted to ensure the swift apprehension of the culprits.
