In a major action, the Counter-errorismDepartment has busted a network of the outlawed Tehreek-e-TalibanPakistan in Quetta.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the TTP network was being operatedfrom Afghanistan. He said that during the operation, an allegedterrorist, Abdul Hadi alias Amarullah, was arrested.
The arrested terrorist is an Afghan national who was involved in anattack on the police mobile in Quetta on December 26. The CTD policerecovered a hand grenade and a pistol from his possession.
During interrogation, the arrested terrorist also revealed the names ofhis six other accomplices who are Afghan citizens, the spokespersonadded.
It may be mentioned here that security forces in an intelligence-basedoperation had also busted banned TTP network and arrested 17 terroristsincluding a terror commander from Karachi a day earlier. The terroristswere involved in target killings, ransom and dacoity cases. These terrorists were planning to collect funds from traders for ransom,attack political and religious parties’ leadership to create law andorder situation in the country.
The arrested terrorists were brought to Pakistan by banned TTP indisguise of madrassa students.
The terrorists were part of TTP network between 2007 to 2014 and wereinvolved in attacks on security forces and NGOs at different places.
