Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education, Kamran Khan Bangash said the government is taking steps for bringing tribal districts into main streamline of national development.
Replying to a question in the “Question Hour” in the provincial assembly in Peshawar today, he said seats for tribal students in medical colleges of the province have been increased from 167 to 334.
Replying to another question, the Minister for Higher Education said 35 new colleges will be made functional in settled districts while 12 new colleges in tribal districts this year.
Later the House passed The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2022.
The session was adjourned to meet again on Friday at 10:00 am.
