Trade & Industry welcomes new Governor of Sindh: Irfan

Mr. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, President FPCCI, has welcomed the new governor of the Sindh province, Mr. Kamran Tessori, on behalf of the entire business, industry and trade community of Pakistan as he feels that the new governor has business-friendly, pro-employment and trade & industry background; and, that will help him a great deal in improving the business and economic conditions of Karachi in particular & Sindh in general.

Mr. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh added that Karachi is the business, financial, trade and economic hub of the country and it was need of the time to appoint a governor who understands the intricacies of creating a conducive business & investment sentiment. We have high hopes of him to take the city out of the mess created by maladministration, corruption and neglect, he added.

FPCCI Chief has demanded that the new governor should sit with the business community at the first available opportunity to restore the lost glory of the city through improving upon cost of doing business & ease of doing business indices of the city.

Mr. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh has outlined the needs of the business community for the new governor to immediately start making a difference vis-à-vis economic activities of Karachi: law & order should be restored in the commercial & industrial centers of Karachi as the first priority as capital & investments are the first things that flow out of troubled areas, K-Electric should be made to comply with fair practices in electricity supply; industrial areas should be exempt from load shedding and overbilling should be completely stopped, road & sewerage infrastructure needs immediate repair, maintenance and up gradation and the city needs a better, affordable and reliable public transport system to cater to its thousands of factories, bazaars and over 200 million people.
