LAHORE – Students of schools and other educational institutions in Lahore will enjoy three consecutive holidays, starting from August 24.
Recently, authorities issued a notification announcing a local holiday in Lahore district on August 26 (Monday) on account of annual Urs of saint Ali Hajveri, also known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh.
Under the new policy, Punjab School Education Department has already announced two weekly holidays (Saturday and Sunday) for schools.
As the Saturday and Sunday this week fall on August 24 and 25, it would be long weekend for students in Lahore as schools will remain closed on Aug 26 in wake of the local holiday. It means students will enjoy three consecutive holidays from August 24 to 26 in the Punjab capital.
