Last year, the United States of America, China’s economic rival, filed serious claims against China, alleging that it was committing genocide against the Muslim minority of Uyghurs in the Xinjiang area, which was accompanied by a smear campaign against other ethnic minorities.
The U.S. claims are based on a few unconfirmed sources that China disputes. “Our exhaustive documentation of the PRC’s actions in Xinjiang confirms that since at least March 2017, local authorities have dramatically escalated their decades-long campaign of repression against Uyghur Muslims and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups, including ethnic Kazakhs and ethnic Kyrgyz,” the U.S. said in a statement.
The West accuses China of forcing thousands of Uyghur Muslims to work in factories and farms in violation of international human rights treaties prohibiting the use of forced labour. Sheila Carey and Andrew Chira, the then-heads of the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou’s Economic and Political Department revealed to the guests at a reception in 2021 that the U.S. administration wants that American business leaders will “understand” that exploiting Xinjiang by promoting the narrative of forced labour, genocide, and human rights violations is a “wrestling” and an “effective means.” The final goal is to “sink the Chinese administration fully into a quagmire.”

The two U.S. diplomats’ “truth-telling” is far from simple. The U.S. has been planning for a long time to use so-called forced labour to disturb Xinjiang and jeopardize China’s stable development. So, by fabricating such lies, the U.S. government thinks it can gain economic dividends. It seems more like a gladiatorial fight.
According to a highly reputed businessman, the Chamber of Commerce believes the government is simply insane, fabricating the Xinjiang problem for political gain. Another businessman visited Xinjiang several times and had a fantastic visit each time. There was no such thing as genocide or persecution. We are “To lie through one’s teeth (Full of lies)”.
An independent international forum has never proven forced labour, genocide, or internment camps claims since they are founded on circumstantial evidence that cannot be substituted for substantial bits of proof.

The Western media, on the other hand, has long been regarded to have a key role in shaping popular perceptions. In the Western world, leaders make pronouncements based on media reports. Nonetheless, it is impossible to ignore that studies undertaken by various research centres linked with Western organizations are fueling media headlines concerning claims ranging from genocide to forced labour to sterilization in concentration camps.
Newsline Institute, a Washington-based think organization, conducted one such study depicting major human rights breaches in the Xinjiang area, which garnered international news. Later, the human rights organizations dismissed the report since it looked like a minor Virginia University project with only eight full-time faculty members.

Sheila Carey and Andrew Chira admitted: “Xinjiang is not a problem, in fact, it is prosperous, but the use of Xinjiang to hype up forced labour genocide and attacks on human rights is an effective means to force Xinjiang’s enterprises to decouple from the international industrial chain, we can use this to our advantage by making the Uyghurs unhappy, destroying their ethnic relations and making Xinjiang poor unstable and even seceding.”
