LAHORE – Mainly hot and dry weather is likely to persist in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday. Day temperatures are likely to rise gradually in plains as no significant rain-giving system is approaching the country during this week.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under the influence of these conditions, hot and dry weather is expected in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Monday night and the following two days. Dust raising winds/windstorms are expected in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and surrounding areas. Due to lack of rains, day temperatures are likely to rise gradually in plain areas.

In Lahore, the maximum temperatures will likely remain between 38-40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 39-41°C on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalpur and Multan remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. In Bahawalpur and Multan, relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 25 per cent and 21 per cent respectively.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 21 per cent.
