Pakistan is the largest producer of Salt in Asia region and the 2nd largest in the world. In terms of exports it falls on rank 16th (TradeMap). Furthermore, Pakistan is the proud host of 800 million-year-old mines that hold over 10 billion tons of deposits. Stretched for 209 kilometers between Jhelum and Indus rivers, the salt range produces slightly over 3 million tons of rock salt annually and 0.5 million tons of sea salt which further enhances the production figure.
It is important to mention here that Pink Rock Salt is the unique product of Pakistan which is found only in Pakistan and it is very famous due its pink color and health benefits globally. In addition to this, in 2022-23 the exports of salt was nearly $ 60 million USD and 40% of Pink Rock Salt is exported through online platforms. In this regard, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has been organizing a series of webinars and seminars for better utilizing search engine optimization tools, and marketing on E-Commerce platforms.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan successfully organized a high-impact seminar on April 16, 2024, shedding light on the vast opportunities available for Pakistan’s Pink Rock Salt on E-Commerce platforms and on “How to become Authorized user of Khewra Pink Rock through IPO registration process, and with a special focus on Pakistan’s Pink Rock Salt export trends.
The session commenced with opening remarks by the esteemed President of SCCI, setting the tone for an engaging and informative discourse. Following the inaugural address, by Mr. Athar Hussain Khokhar, the Director General of the Agro and Food Division at the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and delivered a compelling presentation on the significance of Pakistan’s Pink Rock Salt and its evolving export trends, highlighting lucrative opportunities for businesses.
Expert speakers from TDAP and IPO Pakistan then took the stage to provide a detailed overview of the opportunities within the e-commerce domain, and IPO registration process respectively. Attendees gained valuable insights into regulatory requirements, best practices, and strategies to capitalize on the burgeoning e-commerce landscape.
The seminar concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing participants to interact with the speakers and delve deeper into the topics discussed.
