TALEEM Programme holds tablets distribution ceremony

The School Education Department Punjab’s Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit, under the Transformation in Access Learning Equity and Education Management (TALEEM) Programme, funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), conducted a Tablets Distribution Ceremony at its head office on Friday.

Minister of SED Mr. Mansoor Qadir, Secretary of SED M. AhsanWaheed, PD PMIU M. Farooq Rasheed, GPE Country Team Lead Dr. Hoa Tran Ringrose, Senior Communications Specialist Chantal Rigaud, District Education Officers, and senior officials of SED Punjab graced the event, marking a significant stride in advancing education in the region.

During the ceremony, Minister of School Education Department Mr. Mansoor Qadir and GPE Country Team Lead Dr. Hoa Tran Ringrose distributed tablets to Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities.

This initiative aims to deploy the latest tablets in about 33,000 primary schools across Punjab, supporting teachers in Continuous Professional Development (CPD). The tablets will provide online access to a wealth of teaching and learning materials for students and teachers.

The tablet distribution signifies a historic milestone for Punjab, promising a transformative impact on the education system in the region.

As part of its broader goals, the TALEEM Programme aims to enhance access and learning at primary and middle levels, promote equity and inclusive education, introduce digital advancements through the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS), and foster a mindset change through effective communication.
